The IPL 2025 playoffs are officially locked in following Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) thrilling win over Lucknow Super Giants in the final league match. With the top four teams already confirmed, the result of the last game determined the final positions and matchups.
RCB’s Dominant Chase Secures Top-Two Finish
Chasing a daunting 228, RCB got off to a flying start thanks to Virat Kohli’s 54 off 30 and Phil Salt’s 30 off 19. But it was the explosive finish from stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma (85)* and Mayank Agarwal (41)* that sealed the deal, powering RCB to a historic chase with 8 balls to spare.
The win pushed RCB to second place on the points table with 19 points—equal to Punjab Kings but behind on Net Run Rate (NRR). Gujarat Titans (18 points) and Mumbai Indians (16 points) took the third and fourth spots, respectively.
