Shreyas Iyer vs Rajat Patidar: A Final Face-Off Once Again

Iyer vs Patidar IPL 2025 Final Has Familiar Rivalry

The IPL 2025 Final between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will see captains Shreyas Iyer and Rajat Patidar in a high-pressure rematch. But this isn’t the first time the two have faced off in a major T20 title clash.

Just last year, during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 Final, the duo led their respective domestic sides—Mumbai (Iyer) and Madhya Pradesh (Patidar)—in a thrilling finale at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 Final

That night, Rajat Patidar’s unbeaten 81 off 40 balls gave Madhya Pradesh hope after an early collapse. However, Mumbai’s strong bowling attack, featuring Tushar Deshpande and Suryansh Shedge, kept them to 174/8.

Mumbai chased the target with ease in 17.5 overs. Suryakumar Yadav’s 48, Rahane’s 37, and a fiery 36* off 15 by Shedge, who also starred with the ball, sealed the win for Mumbai. Shedge was awarded Player of the Match.

High Stakes in IPL 2025 Final

This time, the stakes are bigger, the stage is grander, and the pressure is at its peak. RCB had crushed PBKS in Qualifier 1, but Punjab bounced back by defeating Mumbai Indians to reach the final.

This is RCB’s first final since 2016 and Punjab’s first since 2014, both franchises chasing their maiden IPL trophy.

Will Iyer triumph again, or will Patidar script a revenge tale? Cricket fans around the world are ready for a blockbuster.
