The ICC Hall of Fame welcomed seven cricketing legends ahead of the World Test Championship final at Lord’s, honouring their incredible contributions to the game. The Class of 2025 features MS Dhoni, Sana Mir, Matthew Hayden, Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, Sarah Taylor, and Daniel Vettori.

This year’s announcement is especially historic as Sana Mir becomes the first Pakistani woman cricketer to earn a place in the Hall of Fame.

Dhoni’s White-Ball Legacy Gets Hall of Fame Recognition

India’s most successful captain, MS Dhoni, was celebrated for his historic achievements across formats:

  • Only captain to win T20 World Cup (2007), ODI World Cup (2011), and Champions Trophy (2013)
  • Over 10,000 ODI runs at an average above 50
  • Guided India to No. 1 in Test rankings from 2009–2011

“To have your name remembered alongside such all-time greats is a wonderful feeling,” said Dhoni.

Sana Mir’s Trailblazing Career Honoured

Sana Mir, who led Pakistan in 72 ODIs and 65 T20Is, was the leading ODI wicket-taker for her nation with 151 scalps. She also helped Pakistan win Asian Games gold medals in 2010 and 2014.

“This is a moment I couldn’t have dared to imagine,” said Mir.

Other Inductees and Their Legendary Records

  • Matthew Hayden: Known for his dominance at the top, Hayden scored 30 Test centuries and starred in Australia’s 2003 & 2007 World Cup wins.
  • Hashim Amla: South Africa’s most elegant batter, Amla scored 55+ international centuries, including a historic 311 in Tests*.
  • Graeme Smith: Captained South Africa in 109 Tests, winning 53—a world record.
  • Sarah Taylor: Revolutionized wicketkeeping in women’s cricket with 232 dismissals and key roles in England’s 2009 & 2017 World Cup wins.
  • Daniel Vettori: A rare 4000-run, 300-wicket Test club member, led New Zealand to the 2009 Champions Trophy final.
