Young Vaibhav Suryavanshi Guided by Dravid, Backed by Rayudu

Suryavanshi Shines at 14 as Dravid and Rayudu Advise

Indian cricket has a new teenage sensation, and his name is Vaibhav Suryavanshi. At just 14, the youngster has turned into one of the most talked-about cricketers in the country. His fearless batting in IPL 2025 and record knock for Rajasthan Royals made him an instant star, while his exploits on the India Under-19 tour of England proved that his talent goes far beyond Indian conditions.

Suryavanshi stunned fans with a blistering century against Gujarat Titans, followed by the second-fastest century by an India Under-19 batter in England. From packed stadiums to fans lining up for selfies, the teenager is already living the dream of many aspiring cricketers.

Rahul Dravid’s Role in Suryavanshi’s Growth

Such fame at a young age can be overwhelming. Rahul Dravid, India’s great Wall, has stepped in to ensure the boy remains grounded. Former India coach Ravi Shastri revealed during commentary that the 14-year-old is already flooded with endorsement offers. Dravid is closely monitoring his journey, guiding him cautiously so he avoids the pitfalls of early fame.

Ambati Rayudu Sees Shades of Brian Lara

Former India batter Ambati Rayudu believes Suryavanshi’s natural stroke play resembles that of cricket legend Brian Lara.

“His bat speed is extraordinary. The bat whip that he generates, I hope nobody changes that. He should get better. Someone like Lara… maybe go and talk to him. He also had a similar type of bat lift. So he can learn about how to control the bat speed when you are defending and when you are playing with a soft hand. So if he learns that, then he will be an extraordinary talent,” Rayudu said on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast.

Advice to Stay Focused

Suryavanshi’s rapid rise has drawn comparisons not just to Lara but also to Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. With expectations soaring, Rayudu has a word of caution.

“He only has to focus on one thing, and that is he should not be listening to too many people. Don’t listen to people; just back your talent. And for coaches also, it is important that they don’t give him too much advice. Leave him. If he is guided cautiously, he will be an extraordinary talent. He is lucky that Rahul (Dravid) bhai is with him. Rahul Bhai will take care of him,” added Rayudu.

Future of Indian Cricket

From smashing centuries to receiving comparisons with Lara, Tendulkar, and Kohli, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already created headlines most players dream of. With Rahul Dravid’s mentorship and Ambati Rayudu’s advice, the teenager could well be the future face of Indian cricket.
