Kedar Jadhav "2000%" certain that Dhoni will retire after the season is over

Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni showed glimpses of his old self in the match against Rajasthan Royals. Needing 40 off 2 overs, the Captain Cool almost took Chennai across the winning line.

Kedar Jadhav, a former player for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), made a direct comment regarding IPL captain MS Dhoni’s retirement. Incidentally, Dhoni, 41, has participated in 238 games in the premier league so far. He most recently captained the yellow brigade in his 200th match as the team’s captain on Wednesday, April 12.

Kedar Jadhav spoke about MS Dhoni’s future

Although there is a lot of talk about Dhoni retiring and the 16th IPL season perhaps being his last, the captain has not made an official announcement on the matter. Kedar Jadhav, Dhoni’s former teammate, asserted that he is “2000%” certain that Dhoni will retire after the season is over.

“I am telling you this with 2,000 percent certainty that this will be MS Dhoni’s final season as a player in IPL. Dhoni will turn 42 this July. Although still fit, Dhoni is also a human after all. So, I think this will be his final season. Fans shouldn’t be missing any of his matches, they should be watching every ball he’s in the field,” Kedar told during an interaction with News18 CricketNext.

The illustrious CSK captain is one of the select few athletes that enjoy a significant fan base wherever they play. On Wednesday, April 12, Dhoni captained the team in his 200th game while playing against Rajasthan Royals.

Digital viewing increased dramatically during Dhoni’s batting in the chase, which also attracted a large crowd to the stadium in Chennai. Kedar, an IPL expert for JioCinema, claimed that the CSK captain’s batting helped draw in a lot of spectators.

“We also broke record on JioCinema the other day when Dhoni was batting,” Kedar Jadhav concluded.

CSK will look to give a fitting farewell to Dhoni with an IPL title for their Thala. Although with some injury concerns, they need to play extremely well.
