Punjab Kings (PBKS) will miss the services of New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson in their IPL 2025 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday, April 15. The match is being held at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.
Ferguson was not named in the playing XI or among the impact substitutes, raising concerns among fans. It has now been officially confirmed that he has been ruled out of the tournament indefinitely due to a serious injury.
Ferguson’s Injury Update
The 33-year-old pacer walked off the field after bowling just two deliveries in PBKS’ last match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 12. He appeared to clutch his left leg and did not return to bowl or field.
PBKS bowling coach James Hopes addressed the media, stating:
“Ferguson is out indefinitely, and the chances of us getting him back by the end of the tournament are very slim. I think he has sustained a pretty serious injury.”
This injury is another blow in a series of setbacks for Ferguson, who had previously missed the Champions Trophy due to a hamstring issue and was also recovering from a calf injury before IPL 2025 began.
