Cheteshwar Pujara lauded Rahul for leaving his past baggage with LSG behind. Speaking on ESPNcricinfo, Pujara said, “We’ve seen a different KL this season. He’s batting with clarity, enjoying the game, and showing the maturity of a top-level player.”
Nick Knight also chimed in, suggesting Rahul’s form may be due to not carrying the burden of captaincy, allowing him to play with more freedom and confidence.

Against LSG, Rahul took his time to settle in, allowing Abishek Porel to accelerate from the other end. Rahul shifted gears post the 10-over mark, launching into Ravi Bishnoi and Aiden Markram with clean sixes. He completed his fifty in 40 balls and sealed the chase with a third maximum, reinforcing his role as DC’s batting pillar.

Delhi’s bowling unit, led by Mukesh Kumar (4/33), was pivotal in restricting LSG to 159. Pujara praised Mukesh’s yorker to Mitchell Marsh as “one of the best in IPL.” His ability to bounce back after an expensive start was key.
DC captain Axar Patel also impressed with his bowling changes. He opened the attack, rotated bowlers effectively, and ensured key wickets fell at the right moments, with Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav supporting the effort.
