MS Dhoni’s Heartwarming Gesture Steals Spotlight After CSK Win

MS Dhoni’s Special Gesture for Sakariya Wins Hearts

In a thrilling IPL 2025 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), MS Dhoni once again proved why he is respected both on and off the field. While the dramatic two-wicket win had plenty of cricketing highlights, it was Dhoni’s touching post-match gesture that stole the show.

Dhoni Turns Back to Greet Chetan Sakariya

After finishing the match with a trademark six against Andre Russell, Dhoni joined the customary handshake line with KKR players. As he began walking back to the CSK dugout, Dhoni suddenly stopped. Realizing he had missed greeting one player, he turned around and made his way back through the line to reach out to KKR pacer Chetan Sakariya.

Caught slightly behind the group, Sakariya appeared surprised as Dhoni walked up, shook his hand, and patted him on the shoulder. The touching moment was caught on camera and quickly went viral, with fans praising Dhoni’s humility and class.

CSK’s Stunning Comeback Anchored by Brevis and Dube

Earlier in the match, CSK were struggling at 60/5 in their chase of 180. But young Dewald Brevis turned the tide with a quickfire 52 off just 25 balls. Shivam Dube added a steady 45, stabilizing the innings before MS Dhoni arrived to finish the job. His final-over six sent the Eden Gardens crowd into a frenzy, possibly marking his last IPL appearance at the iconic venue.

Although Dhoni hasn’t confirmed his retirement, he mentioned that he has “6 to 8 months” to prepare and decide about his IPL future.
