Veteran Australian opener to make his debut in the USA-based T20 league
First Major League Cricket Stint for Warner
David Warner has officially joined the Seattle Orcas for the 2025 edition of Major League Cricket (MLC), marking his first-ever appearance in the tournament. MLC 2025 will run from June 12 to July 13, and Warner’s signing adds major star power to the league.
From IPL Snub to T20 Dominance Across Leagues
Despite going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, Warner remains one of the most accomplished T20 players in history, with 6565 IPL runs, making him the fourth-highest run-getter in the tournament’s history. Currently, he’s captaining Karachi Kings in the PSL, and earlier this year, he led Sydney Thunder to the BBL final, scoring 405 runs in 12 matches. He also played a key role in Dubai Capitals’ title win in the ILT20.
Seattle Orcas Eye Comeback with Warner
The Seattle Orcas, who topped the table in MLC’s inaugural 2023 season but finished last in 2024, will look to rebuild their campaign with Warner’s experience and leadership. The franchise hopes his inclusion will stabilize the top order and inject firepower into their batting unit.
No Scheduling Clash with The Hundred
Warner’s stint in the MLC will not overlap with The Hundred, where he’s also signed with London Spirit, allowing him to compete in both leagues without conflict.
A New Chapter Begins in the USA
With over 12,000 T20 runs, Warner now prepares to bring his explosive style to American fans for the first time. All eyes will be on the Aussie veteran as he takes the field in MLC 2025, aiming to make an instant impact for the Seattle Orcas.
