Hardik Pandya Gives Riyan Parag a Lesson in Toss During MI vs RR IPL 2025 Match

Hardik Pandya Teaches Riyan Parag the Art of Toss in IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians (MI) have made a stunning turnaround in IPL 2025, going from a rough start to a six-match winning streak. After a challenging first half of the season, where MI had won only one of their first six matches, the five-time champions now find themselves at the top of the points table with 14 points, just one win away from securing a playoff spot.

While key performances from Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and captain Hardik Pandya have played a major role in their resurgence, one lesser-discussed factor is their success in the toss. MI has won three tosses in their last six matches, a 50 percent success rate, which certainly hasn’t hurt their fortunes.

Hardik Pandya’s Toss Lesson for Riyan Parag

During the IPL 2025 match between MI and Rajasthan Royals (RR), Hardik Pandya lost the toss to RR captain Riyan Parag, but that didn’t stop him from offering a few tossing tips to the young Parag. As the toss took place, Hardik was seen demonstrating the art of flipping the coin with precision, gesturing to Parag about the amount of force and the correct distance to flip the coin.

Former India wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta commented on Hardik’s tossing technique, saying, “When Hardik does the toss, he flips the coin really high in the air – sometimes behind. There is some idea that goes into it. He’s figured it out. He’s put some brains behind it for sure.” It’s clear that Hardik’s tossing technique isn’t just a random flip but something he has perfected over time.

Hardik Pandya’s All-Round Performance Powers MI

The game itself saw Hardik Pandya once again demonstrate his all-round brilliance. He first scored an explosive 48* off just 23 balls, including six fours and a six. His partnership with Suryakumar Yadav, who also put on 48* from 23 balls, helped MI post a daunting 217/2 in their allotted 20 overs. The pair put on an unbeaten 94-run stand, which set the stage for a dominant total.

MI’s blistering start was also thanks to openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton, who put up half-centuries and took MI to 116/1 in just 11.5 overs. Despite losing both openers, Hardik and Surya powered the team to an imposing total, with the duo showing their finishing skills.

What made Hardik’s performance even more remarkable was that he was playing with a cut above his eye, which reportedly required 7-8 stitches. Despite the injury, Hardik showed no signs of discomfort while batting, bowling, or fielding, demonstrating his commitment and resilience.

MI’s Playoff Hopes Rest on One More Win

With this comprehensive win, MI are one step closer to securing a playoff spot. Their next match could seal the deal, and MI will need their captain Hardik Pandya to be at full fitness for the upcoming challenges. If Hardik continues to lead by example, MI could very well be in contention for their sixth IPL title.
