The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the India U19 squad for the upcoming tour of Australia, scheduled to begin on September 21, 2025, with a three-match Youth ODI series followed by two four-day Youth Test matches. The selectors have largely retained the core group that recently toured England, backing consistency and proven performers.
At the helm of the squad is Mumbai’s rising star Ayush Mhatre, who continues as captain for both formats. Mhatre, who also plays senior domestic cricket for Mumbai, was the leading run-scorer in the Youth Test series against England, amassing 340 runs across two matches. However, it is 14-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi who remains the biggest talking point. The gifted opener is set to light up Australian conditions with his fearless strokeplay.
