India’s Tests vs WI and SA Swapped Between Delhi and Kolkata; Chennai Loses Women’s ODIs

India’s Home Test Venues Swapped Delhi & Kolkata

The BCCI has made significant adjustments to India’s 2024-25 home season schedule, with notable changes to the venue lineup for key men’s and women’s international matches.

Delhi-Kolkata Test Swap Confirmed

In a major reshuffle, the second Test of India’s two-match series against West Indies originally scheduled at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, will now be hosted by the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from October 10-14. Conversely, Kolkata will now host the first Test against South Africa, originally assigned to Delhi, from November 14-18.

Women’s ODIs Moved Out of Chennai

Chennai will not host the much-anticipated three-match ODI series between India Women and Australia Women scheduled in September. This change comes after the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association expressed its inability to host due to pitch and outfield renovation ahead of the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup.

Instead, the first two ODIs will be played at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh on September 14 and 17, while the final ODI will be held in Delhi on September 20. The venue change also serves as partial compensation to New Chandigarh after it was excluded as a host for the upcoming Women’s World Cup.

India A vs South Africa A Fixtures Shifted

The India A vs South Africa A three-match one-day series has been relocated from M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru to Rajkot’s Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. Bengaluru, now a major hub for the Women’s ODI World Cup (set to host the opener and the final), needed the clearance for international duties.

The newly developed BCCI Centre of Excellence on the outskirts of Bengaluru will host two four-day first-class games between October 30 and November 10, marking its debut as a red-ball venue.
