Manoj Tiwary Says RCB’s IPL 2025 Campaign Feels Like India’s 2011 World Cup Win

Virat Kohli Deserves IPL 2025 Trophy: Manoj Tiwary

Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has stated that no one deserves the IPL 2025 trophy more than Virat Kohli. Tiwary compared Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) current campaign to India’s iconic 2011 World Cup win, where the team rallied to win the title for cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

RCB currently sit second in the points table with 17 points from 12 matches. With Gujarat Titans’ recent loss to Lucknow Super Giants, RCB’s path to finishing in the top two has become more likely. A win against SunRisers Hyderabad will further strengthen their shot at the title and give them two chances to reach the final.

Tiwary: “RCB Must Push for Kohli”

Tiwary, speaking on Cricbuzz, emphasized that RCB must win the IPL for Kohli, just like India won the 2011 World Cup for Tendulkar. “It looks like the universe is aligning to help RCB win,” he said. “Virat has given so much to Indian cricket and RCB. It’s time he lifts the IPL trophy.”

Kohli is one of the top performers this season with 505 runs in 11 matches at an average of 63.13. He’s just 133 runs behind the Orange Cap holder, Sai Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans.

A Tribute Season for Kohli?

Kohli recently announced his retirement from Test cricket after an illustrious career with 9230 runs and 40 Test wins as captain — the most by an Indian skipper. With the IPL 2025 playoffs approaching, fans and cricket experts alike are rooting for RCB to finally break their title drought and deliver the trophy that Kohli has chased for years.

RCB’s determination, Kohli’s consistency, and the emotional backing from fans and former players make this campaign feel special. As Manoj Tiwary puts it, “This is the year RCB can do it — for Virat.”
