Nicholas Pooran’s Explosive Knock Silences Siraj’s Sledging

Pooran Silences Siraj with Brutal Batting Response

Lucknow Super Giants vice-captain Nicholas Pooran delivered the perfect on-field reply to Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Siraj’s repeated sledging during their IPL 2025 match at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Pooran let his bat do the talking, smashing an unbeaten half-century and leaving Siraj red-faced in front of a packed crowd and live cameras.

The drama unfolded in the 16th over of the innings when Siraj verbally targeted Pooran after back-to-back deliveries. While the West Indies batter initially ignored the provocation, he responded with brute force on the fifth ball—launching a towering six over deep mid-wicket. Siraj had no words after that shot, as even commentator Simon Doull cheekily asked, “What have you got to say now?”

Flying Kiss and Fifty in Style

Pooran didn’t stop at just one shot. On the final ball of the same over, Siraj tried a leg-stump line, but Pooran cleared his front leg and lofted it for four down the ground. He held his pose, kissed his bat, and blew a flying kiss toward the bowler—a cheeky and confident statement that fired up social media.

An over later, Pooran reached his 50 in just 23 balls, marking his fifth half-century in under 25 balls this season—a record for any IPL batter in a single edition.

Pooran Reflects on Form, LSG Posts Mammoth Total

This innings was Pooran’s first fifty since April 12, also against Gujarat. He had been in a lean patch with scores of 8, 11, 9, 27, 6, and 45 in previous matches. Speaking during the mid-innings chat, Pooran admitted,

“I wasn’t up to the standards, but everyone goes through rough patches. I’ve accepted it and will keep making the most of the opportunities.”

With support from Mitchell Marsh’s maiden IPL century, Lucknow Super Giants ended their innings with a formidable 235/2, their third-highest total in IPL history.
