Purple Cap Race: Noor and Harshal Shine
There was a shake-up in the IPL 2025 Purple Cap leaderboard after the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Friday.
Gujarat Titans pacer Prasidh Krishna remains the Purple Cap holder with 16 wickets from eight games. He is closely followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Josh Hazlewood, who also has 16 wickets but with a slightly higher economy rate.
CSK’s Noor Ahmad climbed back into the top three after picking up 2 for 42 against SRH, taking his season tally to 14 wickets. Meanwhile, SRH’s Harshal Patel made a strong statement with a brilliant 4 for 20 performance, moving up to 13 wickets for the season.

Orange Cap Race: Sai Sudharsan Stays Ahead
In the batting charts, Gujarat Titans’ B Sai Sudharsan continues to lead the Orange Cap race with 417 runs from eight innings at a strike rate of 152.18.
Virat Kohli’s 70-run knock against Rajasthan Royals pushed him to second place with 392 runs from nine innings.
Lucknow Super Giants’ Nicholas Pooran, who dominated the top spot earlier in the season, now sits third with 377 runs.
Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav holds fourth place with 373 runs, showcasing remarkable consistency without any single-digit scores all season.
In-Form Players on the Rise
Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal are also heating up the Orange Cap race, both sitting at 356 runs. Jaiswal, after a slow start to the season, has found form with scores of 75, 51, 74, and 49 in his last four innings.
