“Pakistan Will Never Forget”: Sehwag, Chopra, Sindhu Voice Support Amid Escalating India-Pakistan Tensions

Sehwag Sindhu Chopra React as India-Pakistan Tensions Rise

Amid the rising military tension between India and Pakistan, several Indian sporting legends including Virender Sehwag, Neeraj Chopra, and PV Sindhu took to social media to express solidarity with the Indian armed forces and deliver blunt messages to Pakistan.

Sehwag: “Pakistan Chose War, Will Never Forget the Reply”

Former India opener Virender Sehwag issued a strongly worded statement on X (formerly Twitter), accusing Pakistan of escalating tensions to protect terrorist infrastructure.

“War has been chosen by Pakistan when they had an opportunity to keep quiet… Our forces will reply most appropriately, in a manner Pakistan will never forget,” Sehwag posted.

His remarks came shortly after India’s air defence systems thwarted attempted drone and missile attacks across Jammu and western military stations. The strikes were reportedly in retaliation for India’s Operation Sindoor, targeting terror camps in Pakistan believed to be linked to the Pahalgam massacre, which left 26 tourists dead, including 25 Indians and one Nepali.

Venkatesh Prasad: “Rogue State”

Former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad was equally direct, labeling Pakistan a “rogue state”:

“India will sc**w them like how,” he wrote, echoing widespread anger across the Indian public.

PV Sindhu, Neeraj Chopra Salute Indian Armed Forces

Two-time Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu praised the courage of Indian defence personnel in a heartfelt message:

“To the brave men and women of the Indian Armed Forces — your courage, discipline, and sacrifice are the soul of our nation… India stands with you. Jai Hind.”

Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra also voiced support, stating that the nation stands united behind its protectors during these challenging times.

Emergency Protocols and IPL Disruption

The attempted strikes triggered blackouts and sirens across parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, with authorities urging residents to stay indoors and alert.

As a precautionary measure, the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala was called off on Thursday, raising concerns about the remainder of the tournament’s schedule.

Background: Operation Sindoor and Pahalgam Attack

  • Operation Sindoor: India’s precision missile strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir, conducted in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack.
  • Pahalgam Incident (April 22): A deadly ambush by terrorists killed 26 tourists, triggering outrage across India and initiating the current cycle of military retaliation.

What’s Next?

While the government has not yet confirmed further military action, nationwide security alerts remain high, and international observers are watching developments closely. In sports, the BCCI and IPL authorities are reviewing match schedules, with further updates expected soon.
