Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma, who recently retired from Test cricket, has issued a strong message urging citizens to avoid spreading or believing fake news related to the ongoing India-Pakistan military conflict. The Indian ODI and former Test captain took to social media to commend the Indian Armed Forces while emphasizing the need for national responsibility during sensitive times.

Rohit Praises Indian Armed Forces, Calls for Calm

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Rohit Sharma expressed his pride in India’s military response and urged people to act responsibly:

“With every passing moment, with every decision taken I feel extremely proud of our Indian Army, Indian Airforce & Indian Navy. Our warriors are standing tall for our nation’s pride. It’s important for every Indian to be responsible and refrain from spreading or believing any fake news. Stay safe, everyone!”

His message came as the country faced heightened military tension on the western front following reported aerial threats from Pakistan. Multiple regions, including Jammu, Pathankot, and Punjab, experienced air raid alerts.

IPL 2025 Suspended After Dharamsala Blackout

The ongoing IPL 2025 season has been suspended indefinitely due to the escalating situation. The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match on May 8 at Dharamsala was halted midway, causing concern among players and fans. Rohit Sharma, who was expected to play in the upcoming Mumbai Indians match at Ahmedabad, will not return to action unless conditions stabilize.

IPL officials are currently reviewing the situation alongside government authorities, with no official word on when or if the tournament will resume.

Rohit Sharma Retires from Test Cricket

Rohit Sharma also recently announced his retirement from Test cricket ahead of India’s upcoming tour of England, scheduled to begin on June 20, 2025. Sharing his decision on social media, Rohit wrote:

“I am retiring from Test cricket. It’s been an absolute honour to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all the love and support over the years.”
