Rishabh Pant’s Batting Position Raises Concerns
Rishabh Pant’s recent struggles in IPL 2025 have become a major concern for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Sehwag’s Strong Message to Pant: “Take Charge”
Ahead of LSG’s crucial clash against Mumbai Indians, former India opener Virender Sehwag has advised Pant to take control of his batting position. Drawing from his own 2011 World Cup experience, Sehwag revealed that he had declared a DRS review would always be reserved for him, highlighting the importance of self-belief.
“Rishabh Pant needs to do the same,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz. “Tell the team that you can win matches if you bat at the right spot.”
Sehwag emphasized that Pant must assert himself as a match-winner and not leave critical decisions to the team management.
Sehwag Suggests No.4 Position for Pant
Sehwag further recommended that Pant should bat at No.4, especially when the top three are performing consistently.
“When you’re not scoring runs, management forces you down the order. But Pant should stick to No.4 where he can control the innings,” Sehwag added.
According to Sehwag, staying in the middle order would allow Pant to stabilize innings and utilize his explosive batting when needed.

Despite Pant’s struggles, LSG remains in the playoff race with five wins in nine games. They face a tough opponent in Mumbai Indians next, who are riding high on momentum with four consecutive victories.
