Stepping in as an Impact Sub, he opened the chase alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, contributing 16 runs off 12 balls with two sixes.
Despite RR falling short in the chase, finishing at 195/9 in 20 overs, Suryavanshi’s bold approach and big-hitting abilities stood out. Speaking on Star Sports, Raina couldn’t help but praise the young talent, even singing a line from the famous Bollywood song “Chota Bachcha Jan Ke,” describing Suryavanshi’s confidence and composure.

The India U-19 cricketer has had an impressive start to his IPL 2025 campaign, amassing 50 runs in two matches at a strike rate of 156.25. His IPL debut makes him the youngest-ever player to feature in the league, a record he set after RR purchased him last year. The young sensation has already earned recognition for his performances in domestic cricket, having debuted in the Ranji Trophy at the age of 12, becoming the second-youngest player from Bihar to do so.
Suryavanshi’s international credentials include representing India at the 2024 ACC U-19 Asia Cup, where he scored 76 runs off 46 balls against UAE and followed it up with an impressive 67 off 36 balls in the semi-finals against Sri Lanka.
