Yash Dayal Booked for Sexual Harassment After Complaint by Ghaziabad Woman

Yash Dayal Booked in Harassment Case in Ghaziabad

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has been booked in a sexual harassment case following a complaint from a woman in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The woman, who claims she was in a five-year relationship with the cricketer, accused him of emotional, mental, and physical exploitation under the false promise of marriage.

The complaint was initially lodged on June 21 via the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s online grievance portal (IGRS). Based on a preliminary inquiry, an FIR was registered at the Indirapuram police station under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to sexual acts carried out through deceit or false promises. The section carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison along with a fine.

According to the woman’s statement, Dayal introduced her to his family, who assured her that she would be their daughter-in-law. “He repeatedly made physical relations with me by falsely promising marriage. I maintained the relationship with full honesty and faith,” she said. She added that the mental trauma from his alleged actions led her into depression, for which she sought medical help. “I attempted suicide several times due to emotional suffering,” she claimed.

Multiple Allegations Surface

The case took a deeper turn when a week after the initial complaint, other women reportedly came forward with similar accusations. As per a Dainik Bhaskar report, on April 17, another woman who was in contact with Dayal reached out to the complainant and shared evidence of his affairs. Three other women allegedly shared similar stories, stating they too were misled.

The complainant also alleged that Dayal used the same mobile application to order items for multiple women and that she discovered he had stayed in a Lucknow hotel on June 7 where he ordered objectionable materials.

The woman, a former employee at an ed-tech firm, claimed that she and Dayal met on social media and later began meeting in person in Prayagraj. She said she stayed at his residence and was familiar with his family. However, reports suggest that Dayal’s father has denied knowing her.

The investigation is currently underway, and the police have not yet issued an official statement regarding the next steps. Dayal, who represented RCB in the IPL, has not publicly responded to the allegations at this time.
