Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has been a source of inspiration for young cricketers. After several attempts of not winning the trophy, she finally tasted success by winning the inaugural edition of the Women’s IPL for the Mumbai Indians.
Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the India Women’s team, has discussed her rise through the ranks of cricket. The 34-year-old spoke about how her father, despite being from a far-off village like Moga, helped her achieve as a cricket player.

She is the most successful captain in the T20Is for India. In 96 matches, she has won 54 games. With 41 victories in 72 games, MS Dhoni is in second place. Also, she has steered India to 11 victories in one-day internationals (ODIs), including a recent 3-0 road victory over England Women.
At the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2020 and the ODI World Cup in 2022, Kaur led the India Women to the championship games.
The batter from Punjab is also the first female T20I player to reach a century. In addition, Kaur is the first cricketer from India—male or female—to have played in 100 T20 International matches. She is also the Indian batter with the second-highest score (171* vs Australia Women) in Women’s ODIs, trailing only Deepti Sharma (188 vs Ireland Women).
