The upcoming match between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2023 has caught the attention of legendary Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag. Ahead of the highly anticipated encounter, Sehwag has issued a stern warning to Sanju Samson and his team, urging them to stay alert against the formidable opposition led by KL Rahul.
A formidable task in front of RR
Rajasthan Royals (RR), the champions of the inaugural edition of the IPL, are set to face off against the Lucknow Super Giants in match No. 26 of the IPL 2023 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Wednesday. Led by the talented Sanju Samson, RR will be hoping to build on their impressive victory over Gujarat Titans (GT) in their previous match and continue their winning momentum in the tournament.
However, RR will face a tough challenge in the form of KL Rahul’s LSG, who are currently one of the strongest teams in the league. Rahul, who recently played a fighting knock against Punjab Kings (PBKS), will be looking to continue his impressive form and guide his team to victory against RR.
Sehwag’s warning to RR
During a recent discussion on Cricbuzz, the legendary India opener Virender Sehwag pointed out a potential weakness in the Rajasthan Royals (RR) team ahead of their upcoming match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2023. Sehwag warned that RR’s pace bowling attack, apart from Trent Boult, does not pose a significant threat to the opposition.
“KL Rahul is back in form. He scored runs in the previous match. Yes, his strike rate may not have met people’s expectations, but his form is a great sign. Rajasthan doesn’t have any other fast bowler apart from Trent Boult who has express pace or is very dangerous. They do have dangerous spinners, but if KL Rahul bats for long, he will surely take them apart,” Sehwag was heard saying.

Sehwag, who is known for creating controversies with his straight forward remarks, said, “If you talk about establishing yourself in the Indian team, I believe KL Rahul is far better than Sanju Samson. He has played Test matches and scored hundreds in many countries. He has performed well in ODIs, both as an opener and in the middle order, and has also scored runs in T20 cricket,”
