KL Rahul has been under the hammer for his recent failures in T20 Cricket. Chasing 200+, Rahul ended with a poor knock of 18 from 20 balls. Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif believes KL Rahul, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), must perform better if they are to defeat the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their forthcoming IPL 2023 match on Saturday.
Mohammad Kaif discussed the significance of KL Rahul setting the LSG off to a strong start during Star Sports’ Cricket Live Show.
“If Lucknow has to do well, then KL Rahul will have to show the magic with his bat. The fate of this team largely depends on his batting,” Kaif said.
Virender Sehwag, a former Indian opener, also participated in the Star Sports conversation. He previously played for the Punjab franchise and believes they have a fairly established bowling attack under the direction of ace all-rounder Sam Curran.
Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Rabada, among others, might help PBKS have a solid showing with the ball, in Sehwag’s opinion. In response, he said:
“Sam Curran will prove to be a very important bowler for Punjab in TATA IPL. He has had a stellar run in the T20 World Cup and that confidence will work in favor of the team. Along with this, Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, and Rahul Chahar provide strength to this team. Overall Punjab Kings have a very strong bowling unit.”
